4 Ways You Are Making Your Acne Worse
Many of us have suffered from at least a few breakouts in our lifetime and know how incredibly frustrating and embarrassing they can be. If, however, you suffer from constant breakouts and even have what you consider to be moderate to severe acne, then
you might be surprised how just a few simply lifestyle changes can make a dramatic improvement in the appearance of your skin.
Cameron Diaz, who is considered to be one of the most beautiful women in the world,
suffered for years with severe cystic acne until she changed to a healthy diet and was astonished at how her skin cleared up. We hope that can give you inspiration if you are just fed up of facing the mirror every day! Here are a few very simple things you might not be doing, or might be doing, that are probably aggravating your already vulnerable skin.
Something so simple, yet most of us still don’t do it.
Water is essential to flush toxins out of your body. If you do not drink enough water, those toxins will stay in your body and more often then not show up as breakouts, which can be on the face, neck, chest or back.
Get yourself a large water bottle and make sure to drink at least 2 liters a day to keep your complexion smooth, glowing and pimple free!
2. Squeezing Pimples
No matter how tempting that huge pimple on the tip of your nose may be, leave it alone! Squeezing a pimple just spreads the germs once the pus leaks out of it and often causes even worse breakouts in that same area.
By pushing on the skin you also leave yourself vulnerable to permanent scarring.
3. Not Moisturizing or Using Healthy Oils
Many people with oily skin and breakouts believe that moisturizer only adds more grease, but that is one of the biggest acne myths. Moisturizer is important to provide a barrier between your skin and outside stressors that can make your breakouts worse. Lack of
hydration causes your skin to produce more sebum, leading to even more breakouts.
The trick to proper hydration is to make sure you are using the right moisturiser. For example, do not use one for dry skin as your skin already has enough oil; so use a water-based moisturiser instead. People also assume that oil is a no no for acne skin, but some oils are great for problem skin. The Tamanu Oil from LaMav is perfect for use on acne scarring due to its incredible healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

4. Eating Unhealthy Food
If you are constantly struggling with your skin and follow an unhealthy diet, then the biggest link is probably right in front of your eyes leading right from your food to those unsightly bumps.
Certain unhealthy foods stimulate the body to over-produce sebum, which then causes your pores to become clogged and pimples to occur. Unhealthy foods also causes more toxins in your body, which as you now know will also lead to breakouts. Something as simple as changing your diet to one that consists of mainly fruits, veggies healthy fats (nuts, avocadoes, coconut oil) , and healthy (grassfed and organic) meats may be the cure to your problem skin!
