3 Ingredient DIY Exfoliating Face Mask


If, for some
reason, Monday is not your favorite day of the week, let me tell you – there is
a way to make this “bitter” day a bit “sweeter”. How? With a little bit of
honey!
 Today we want to share with you another super simple, homemade beauty recipe
that will be the ideal complement to your Monday morning routine. So, If you couldn’t
find time to pamper yourself during the weekend – why not do it today?
After all, you can never go wrong with a good facial! Especially if it is two
in one – beautifying mask and exfoliating scrub! Already convinced? Let’s cook!

 

The Recipe

The recipe,
as I’ve already mentioned, is pretty simple – three ingredients only (two of
which can be found in your kitchen)! Below is what you will need:

  • 1/3 cup plain oatmeal
  • 2 table spoons honey
  • 3 table spoons Sweet Almond Oil (if you
    have acne-prone skin, add 1 spoon only)
  • Wooden stick/spoon
  • Small mixing bowl


If you have sensitive
skin, I’d recommend soaking the oats for 1 hour in warm water. Once they swell up, strain them with a cloth and add
them to the mixture.This way, they will become softer, thus less likely to irritate your skin.

Note: Once
ready, the mixture can be stored in the fridge, since, most probably you won’t
use all of it at once anyways.

How To Use The Mask

You can
start by applying a small amount on your face and massage gently, with
circular motions – removing the dead cells from the skin’s
surface, ensures better absorption of all beneficial compounds we’ve added to the mask. Once you are
done exfoliating, apply some more of the mixture, until your face is covered
with a thick layer of honey goodness. Leave it for at least 15 minutes (30
minutes would be even better – meanwhile you can have some tea). Rinse with
lukewarm water and tap dry with a towel. Now go take a look at your face (you
are allowed to
“wow”)!

Note: Don’t forget
to apply
 your favorite moisturizer once you are done – Hydration is essential!
