Shiny Hair Tips: Enhance Confidence with Lustrous Locks

3 Simple Tricks For Beautiful Hair

I believe that our hair is our crowning glory. Having beautiful shiny locks is a major head turner! Unfortunately, some of us are just not born with hair meant for superstardom. Is your mane dry, limp, dull? Well, ladies, don’t fret, there is a way to revive your locks! With these simple tips, gorgeous hair is finally within reach.

Use Nourishing Hair Masks

You can never go wrong with a good, nourishing hair mask. Regular use of hair masks is important especially for coloured or treated hair. The purpose of a hair mask is to deep condition your locks, in order to keep them healthy and shiny. If you enjoy using natural products and you like DIY beauty recipes, below we have one for you - quick, easy and effective.

DIY Nourishing Hair Mark:

2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp pure organic honey

Mix all ingredients and apply on dry hair. Massage gently starting from the roots and distribute what’s left from the mixture onto the lengths. Leave on (with a shower cap on) for 30 minutes and then shampoo your hair as usual. Even though some say hair masks should be used 2-3 times per month, I believe for the most part it depends on the condition of your hair. If you feel your locks need some extra love & nourishment, you can use a mask every week.

Protect Your Locks from The Sun

We all know that the sun can damage our skin. But most of us are not aware that the sun’s UV rays can also damage our hair, making it dry, coarse, and brittle. So just like our skin, we should protect our hair from the sun. Wearing a hat, scarf, or anything that will cover your hair will do the trick. You can also try hairspray/leave-in conditions with UV protection, in case wearing hats/scars is not your thing. Alternatively, when you go to the beach you can apply pure organic Hempseed oil, Wheatgerm oil, Jojoba oil, Coconut oil or Shea butter  - all of them have natural SPF + they nourish the hair (consider this an added bonus)

The Magic of The Cool Rinse

The biggest low down of hot showers is that they damage your hair just like your blow-dryer does. Hot water makes your hair weak and susceptible to breakage, not to mention it takes away its natural shiny by opening the hair cuticles. On top of that hot water dehydrates your hair, stripping it off its natural oils.

Though, we know you can’t possibly avoid hot showers all the time, a cold rinse right before leaving the shower will seal the hair cuticles and lock the moisture in. Moisturized hair is less likely to look frizzy and brittle.
