Get Rid Of Acne Scars and Blemishes Naturally

Blemishes, be it one small pimple or an army of the buggers, affect almost every one of us at some point in our lives. Most of us turn to harmful chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide, which when tested on mice in 1991, was shown to have tumour-promoting tendencies. You want to use a product that is not only free from harmful effects such as these but also ones that are not tested on animals!  Why not forgo drugstore products altogether? Trust the benefits of fresh fruits and spices that have been used for centuries as a natural healing aid for a whole host of ailments.

Fade acne scars and blemishes the old fashion way with these 3 natural face masks.

Banana Peel Scar Reducer

When making your next smoothie, think twice before throwing that peel away! Banana peels pack a powerful antioxidant punch for your skin and have been used with impressive results. Banana peels can drastically fade old acne scars, clear up any current blemishes you may be struggling with as well as prevent new ones, now that’s bananas!

How To:

Make sure to use the inner peel for this treatment. Simply massage peel of a banana over affected areas morning and night. If you don’t wear makeup during the day, then feel free to do this midday too! Rub the banana peels until they start turning brown to make sure you get the most out of them. Your skin will feel sticky while it’s on, but it’s worth it! Leave it overnight or for at least 30 minutes before rinsing off. Expect to see results within a week!

Lemon Spot Treatment

Lemons are truly magical. They not only smell delicious and add a pleasant citrus zing to your water and meals, they are fantastic for problem skin. Lemons are antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial meaning that they will treat blemishes as well as prevent infection. Lemon is also known for brightening the skin and fading scars.

How To:

So simple! Simply dab the juice of a fresh lemon on affected areas with a q-tip. Wait for the juice to dry and follow with your moisturizer. This can be done before bed as well as in the morning under your makeup. If you have an open pimple that you have picked at or squeezed, keep in mind that the lemon juice will burn! However, the sting will last for only a few seconds and will prevent your open pimple from becoming infected so it’s important to do.

Turmeric and Honey All-In-One Scrub & Masque

Turmeric is not only incredible for your health, it has some serious skin brightening benefits too. It is also antibacterial (as is honey), so when you combine these two ingredients together they work powerfully to improve your skin. Add some sugar to make this a wonderful exfoliating treatment too.

How To:

Combine 1 to 2 tablespoons honey, one teaspoon turmeric and one teaspoon sugar into a bowl. If using it as a masque apply to a cleansed, slightly damp face in a thick, even layer and leave on for up to 30 minutes. Don’t be alarmed if the turmeric has slightly stained your skin, it washes off easily with a gentle facial cleanser! If using as an exfoliant, simply massage into cleansed, damp skin in small circular motions for up to two minutes before rinsing.

Unfortunately, however, she quickly discovered just how complicated it was to treat sensitivity and pigmentation naturally. When dealing with skin pigmentation it can be all-encompassing as you become fixated on repairing and healing the complexion – and at the time.
